About Me
Hello, friends 🖤
If you don't know me personally, I'll go ahead and answer the question you were probably going to ask first: It's pronounced "Say-bruh". It means "thorny cactus", so....not as cool as it sounds. It's an incredibly old family name. I was named after my great-grandmother, and it was traced back exceptionally far on our family tree.
My Sweetheart
My husband, Gabriel, and I have been together for 6 years now. Our two girls and our home are our favorite things. Gabriel and I met through a mutual friend, and our relationship moved fast. It's hard to describe what meeting your soulmate is like if you haven't done it, but the best term I can come up with is a sense of settling. Everything within me was suddenly settled the first time I looked at him. It was like my soul was saying, "Oh, there you are. Finally." Within six weeks of us meeting, he was moving states so we could give our connection a real shot and we've been together ever since.
My Craft
My photography is heavily influenced by my passions and my own love for romance. I have always had an eye for the dramatic, and I feel my feelings in a very big way. I've always used photography to find a way to express my feelings, from my happiest times to my hardest. An integral part of that process for me was taking photos of myself. I have a big background in self-portraiture and have used self-portrait photography a hundred times in my life to get through moments I wouldn't wish on anybody. This art is healing, and I've made some of my best work when I was in my most vulnerable moments. I taught myself photography, lighting, settings, and styling all through the art of self-portrait photography and it's still one of my favorite coping mechanisms when life catches up to me. One of my greatest gifts in life is to share that healing experience with others.
I want my photos to invoke feelings of drama, empathy, and romance.
More little things about me...
Favorite book
I get this question all the time and this is hard, because I've read a LOT of good books. The best story I've ever read isn't a published book at all, but actually a three-story fanfiction series, so. That's pretty niche.
I'll give you some of my favorites books at the moment: The Once Upon A Broken Heart Trilogy, Divine Rivals, Pride & Prejudice, and anything by Emily Henry or Julie Soto.
Favorite Grey's Anatomy pairing
It was Callie & Arizona for ages, but of course Shonda hates happiness and broke them up. Then it was Alex & Jo, but of course Shonda still hates happiness and gave Alex the worst write off of all time. It was briefly Mark & Lexie, but...SHONDA HATES HAPPINESS.
Favorite Taylor Era
As a huge lover of the dark feminine, Reputation has my heart. Folklore is a close second, because of the love story within the album.
Auras
If you follow my Instagram, you might already know this because I talk about it frequently: I can see Auras. Anyone who can see Auras sees them differently, but for me they aren't a glowing haze that surrounds a person. I see Auras when I close my eyes rather than when I open them. I can see Auras of people and music (this is different than synesthesia), and it usually takes me about an hour around a person to see their Aura clearly. So at the end of our session if you want to know what your Aura is, I can probably tell you!
Coffee order
I love rich coffee. I'm not super big on sweet coffee. My go-to orders are an Americano with cream, an iced breve latte with an extra shot, or a flat-white with an extra shot.
Top three favorite romance tropes
1. Enemies-to-lovers, but it has to be TRUE enemies. If he's just her office rival, I don't want it.
2. Grumpy X Sunshine
3. Forced close proximity
Favorite holiday?
It's a tie between Valentine's Day and Halloween. Valentine's Day because I love love, and Halloween because I love everything to do with the Spirit World. One gives me endless dopamine, one fascinates me endlessly. Such a tossup.
A few things that make me happy
1. Girlie-pop events (think Era's Tour, Barbie, Galentine's Day, etc.)
2. Every single Ali Hazelwood book
3. Fuzzy blankets, fuzzy socks, fuzzy robes
4. Crowns n' gowns
